Beginning of our Institution:
Badriya is a Charitable trust registered in the number 12 /1V/75 in January 1975. Our aim is to work for the religious and academic education, and in the fields of charity and other social service areas. It was a trust consisting of 21 members from Ernakulam district, Kerala, interested in charity and are from various walks of life. In 1979, Mr. Paanakkadu Sayyid Muhammad Ali Shihab Thangal, laid the foundation stone of our first venture known as Jamiya Badriya Arabic college.

Establishment:
Our Institution started working with its limited factors in 1979. Our first batch of scholars (AL-BADARIS ) passed out in the year 1984. In the same year, Kuwait Wakaf Minister, Yusuf Hashim Rifaee inaugurated the new block of our Institution. After that by the whole hearted patronage and help of our well wishers,the construction work of our institution was completed. There are several units of the institution over different areas of Muvattupuzha and Ernakulam.

Under the full fledged support of the Govt: and strictly following the rules and regulations, the institution and its related activities are going on. About 500 and 100 students are studying in the primary and secondary units respectively. Simultaneously with the religious studies the revised syllabus of Central Govt. has been implemented here which provides M.Com / MA courses recognized by M.G. University. Apart from education, food, accommodation and medical treatment are free over here. Financial help for marriage of weaker sections, without considering cast or religion, is a prime activity of the trust. AL-Badris cultural Association and AL-Abqua Kshema Nidi which distributes financial relief are working under the trust for the upliftment of financially backward sections. Badriya Sahithya Samajam integrating the arts, sports and social activities of the student is also working as unit under the trust.

Social status:
Jamiya Badriya Arabic College is the first institution with Islamic perspective in southern Kerala. So it is popularly known as Ummul Madaaris ( Mother of Madrasas ). As a pioneer, the trust , its institutional and social activities could become a grand model for hundreds of institutions emerged in later ages. Until now, the trust could provide religious and academic education for more than 20,000 poor students as free. The services of the trust could bring an educationally backward region in to forefront of education. It is a pleasure that the services of trust can render real religious and material sprit to society and by that be an active member in protecting social integrity and secularity and peaceful atmosphere of the country. The trust is obliged to protect the noble secularist atmosphere of Kerala.About 200 "Mahall's" have led the Scholars from The Jamia Badriyya Arabic College in different parts of of the country.

Our Jubilees and Sannad Ceremony:
There have 15 Jubilee ceremonies been held over here until now. In this blessed session’s Sannad distribution for the students who completed the course offered by the college is held. In these sessions which provide great union of scholars and people make important resolutions as agenda.

Knowledge for liberation of universe,
Islamic shereath and world peace,
Study and preach light,
Use knowledge as a weapon,
Islam, the royal path of liberation,
Study and follow the prophet,

Are some from those resolutions The resolution propaganda are conducted in all Kerala basis. Religious and social tolerance sections, seminars and debates are held as supplementary to the Jubilee functions.

Proposed programme for your relevant presence:
As described in preface, institution’s 30th jubilee and 16th ‘Sannad’ issue conference proposed to conduct in coming April. We are requesting your highness to full fill our great lust by your esteemed presence to inaugurate our precious session and foundation activities of the new block. Sayyid Muhammad ali Shihab Thangal External Affairs Minister, Janab E Ahamad Sahib some other central and state Ministers, Religious-Social – Cultural leaders will participate in the same function.
